Ramp Agent (Station Attendant) - Airport - Full-Time

Role Overview

This full-time role based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada involves working as a Ramp Agent to support airport ground operations. You will work collaboratively with your team to efficiently load and unload aircraft, manage baggage handling, and fulfill various ground duties to ensure safe, timely aircraft turnaround.

Compensation and Shifts

The starting pay rate is $18.15 per hour. Shift differentials apply: an additional $0.50 per hour for work between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM, and $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Job Expectations and Work Conditions

This position requires physical rigor including lifting up to 70 pounds repeatedly and working outdoors across all weather conditions. You will operate heavy machinery on the airside and must adhere to strict safety and security protocols. The job includes rotating shift patterns across a 24-hour cycle, covering weekends and holidays.

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy equipment on the airside.
• Successful clearance of a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening.
• Completion of the full-time training program (5-7 weeks) with satisfactory performance.
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to work effectively within a team.
• Reliability and punctuality to maintain smooth operations in a high-paced environment.
• Capacity to obtain and maintain necessary transportation security clearances and authorizations.
• Eligibility to work in Canada at the time of employment and responsibility for all required permits or visas.
