Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Quantity Surveyor based in Kumasi or Accra to join our team on-site. This role involves preparing and evaluating Bills of Quantities (BOQ), assisting with cost planning from project initiation through completion, and contributing to tender preparations and evaluations. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring budgets, implementing cost control strategies, and producing periodic cost reports that reflect the financial status of projects.
The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to maintain precise cost projections and ensure value maximization throughout the project lifecycle. Additional duties include supporting contract administration processes, evaluating contract variations, and participating in risk and value management activities.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Proven expertise in preparing Bills of Quantities and measuring work, with the ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of cost planning and management within construction projects, including budget creation and forecasting.
- Experience in cost control, financial data analysis, and creating clear cost reports for stakeholders.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with standard construction contracts and foundational contract administration skills.
- Proficient with QS or construction management software tools and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork abilities, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site in Kumasi or Accra and manage multiple assignments efficiently within set deadlines.
- Previous exposure to architecture or construction sectors within Ghana or the West African region is advantageous.
