Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned public-markets investment expert to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of a public-markets portfolio. The candidate will analyze portfolio positioning relative to current market trends and relevant benchmarks, and devise actionable strategies focused on asset allocation, fund and ETF identification, risk management, rebalancing, and execution planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze holdings across public equities, fixed income instruments, ETFs, funds, and other liquid assets.
  • Identify portfolio construction discrepancies, concentration vulnerabilities, allocation shortfalls, and key performance contributors.
  • Benchmark portfolio components against suitable standards and investment goals.
  • Compile structured market updates covering macroeconomic trends, sector shifts, and asset class developments.
  • Assess ETFs and funds based on exposure, costs, liquidity, diversification, and fit within the portfolio.
  • Formulate data-driven rebalancing strategies.
  • Develop detailed implementation plans including proposed trade execution instructions.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of performance, volatility, risk exposures and comparisons against benchmarks.
  • Document and justify recommendations clearly.
  • Incorporate senior experts’ feedback promptly and refine deliverables accordingly.

Candidate Profile

  • Approximately 8 to 10 years of professional experience in public markets investments.
  • Practical expertise in portfolio management, asset allocation, fund and ETF selection, and portfolio risk analysis.
  • Experience working within institutional asset managers, multi-family offices, investment offices, hedge funds, wealth managers, or similar investment platforms.
  • Relevant roles include Junior Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Manager, Investment Principal, Senior Investment Analyst, or equivalents.
  • Strong understanding of public equities, fixed income, ETFs, benchmark metrics, and practical portfolio implementation strategies.
  • Proven ability to generate detailed market updates, perform portfolio diagnostics, develop rebalancing plans, and craft implementation strategies.
  • Advanced quantitative aptitude, including expertise with portfolio performance and risk measurement tools.
  • CFA charterholder status is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the capacity to articulate portfolio decisions precisely and comprehensibly.
  • Meticulous, systematic, and comfortable with regular review and adjustment of investment judgments.
  • Experience with AI evaluation or structured investment assessment projects is considered an asset.
