Role overview
A health research organisation based in Dublin is looking for a Project Officer to support its funding programmes through to March 2027. The role focuses on helping design, run and review funding schemes, while also contributing to communications, events and stakeholder engagement.
What you will do
- Assist with the creation of grant calls and the peer review process.
- Provide day-to-day project support across multiple award and scheme portfolios.
- Identify and secure suitable expert reviewers for grant applications.
- Prepare research call materials and handle questions from applicants and host institutions.
- Coordinate communication with applicants, including sharing application feedback.
- Work with national and international agencies on collaborative funding initiatives.
- Support post-award administration, including contract discussions, milestone finalisation, deliverables, budgets and payments.
- Handle and track requests for grant changes or variations.
- Support award monitoring through annual reports, interim reviews and final grant reports.
- Contribute to wider evaluation work measuring the results and impact of funding activity.
- Help produce and promote online content and resources.
- Support events and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with a broad mix of internal and external stakeholders.
Essential qualifications and experience
The preferred candidate will ideally hold a PhD, although a minimum of NFQ Level 9 qualification is required, such as a Masters or Postgraduate Diploma, in a relevant area. Suitable backgrounds include health-related disciplines, social sciences, engineering, business, healthcare professions and life sciences.
You must have at least 2 years of relevant experience after graduation, showing technical knowledge, strong organisation and an understanding of project management objectives.
Desirable experience
- Strong computer skills, including practical use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, plus database experience.
- Previous project management experience.
