About the Role
An opportunity is available for a highly experienced Project Director to spearhead the implementation of a significant enterprise ERP transformation initiative within a large, complex organisation. The project involves deploying a modern ERP system encompassing Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, Planning, and Analytics functionalities while supporting broader organisational transformation goals.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, governance oversight, and practical program delivery expertise to ensure successful adoption across diverse business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the ERP platform implementation by promoting adoption of industry best practices and standard operating models.
- Contribute actively to a major enterprise-wide transformation program while sustaining ongoing business operations.
- Support strategic workforce and capability planning aligned with program priorities.
- Collaborate closely with business leaders, technology teams, and specialist units to maximize delivery outcomes.
- Act as a champion for transformation, fostering organizational values, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Define project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables in partnership with stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, issues, and interdependencies.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and change management processes to facilitate business uptake.
- Monitor project performance to ensure alignment with plans and budget constraints.
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and reporting standards.
- Prepare and deliver project status updates and strategic recommendations to executive and senior leadership.
- Establish and nurture relationships across executive, business, and technology functions.
- Provide expert advice to support well-informed decision-making.
- Oversee relationships with external implementation partners, consultants, and software vendors.
- Encourage cross-business unit collaboration to achieve program goals.
- Maintain strict adherence to organizational policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Assist audit processes and engage in ongoing risk management activities.
- Identify operational risks and contribute to effective mitigation strategies.
- Stay knowledgeable about relevant industry, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Technology, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- More than 8 years' experience leading large-scale enterprise projects, programs, or transformation efforts.
- Proven leadership experience managing ERP implementations.
- Solid understanding of Finance, HR, and Payroll technology systems.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex requirements across enterprise programs.
- Strong governance, risk management, and program delivery skills.
- Capability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday or other tier-one ERP platforms.
- Background in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other heavily regulated sectors.
- Experience leading organisation-wide business transformation initiatives.
