About LayerZero Power Systems

LayerZero Power Systems LLC stands as a global frontrunner in delivering advanced power distribution products tailored for critical industries. Our core values emphasize dependability, innovation, and exceptional customer service, catering principally to sectors such as data centers, financial services, IT services, and semiconductor manufacturing. Our clientele includes Fortune 100 companies and an expanding roster of new customers, fueling steady organizational growth.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Director to lead and enhance our global electronics supply chain and strategic sourcing functions. This role will oversee strategic planning and execution related to electronic components, PCB assemblies, contract manufacturing, distributor partnerships, and supplier risk mitigation. The goal is to proactively manage supply ahead of demand, reducing vulnerabilities to shortages and disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global strategy for sourcing electronic components, PCBs, EMS partners, and associated commodities.
  • Establish and cultivate a global network of suppliers and partners across Asia, North America, and Europe to elevate supply chain resilience, capacity, cost efficiency, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Lead high-level negotiations and finalize strategic agreements that support scalable growth and supply reliability.
  • Forecast market trends, anticipate component availability challenges, lead-time fluctuations, allocation risks, and supply constraints to protect production continuity.
  • Implement proactive assurance strategies including capacity reservation, alternative sourcing solutions, lifecycle management, and risk-informed inventory policies.
  • Create and maintain market intelligence systems and escalation procedures that shift organizational response from reactive to anticipatory supply leadership.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with OEMs, EMS providers, distributors, component manufacturers, and regional partners.
  • Define and uphold supplier performance standards related to cost, quality, delivery, lead time, innovative capability, and risk reduction.
  • Conduct senior-level business reviews, orchestrate supplier development initiatives, and manage escalation processes with strategic suppliers.
  • Analyze global market shifts, pricing trends, supply-demand variations, and geopolitical factors to craft responsive sourcing strategies.
  • Drive cost reduction through negotiation, value engineering, design-to-cost measures, make-or-buy analyses, and optimizing supplier bases.
  • Establish a formal risk management framework to address supply shortages, geopolitical risks, obsolescence, and dependencies on single sources.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and sales teams to align supply chain strategies with product development, demand planning, and client commitments.
  • Influence early-stage design and NPI decisions to enhance manufacturability, availability, cost efficiency, scalability, and supply reliability.
  • Advise senior leadership on critical supply chain issues, offering insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations, including RoHS, REACH, and conflict minerals standards.
  • Leverage ERP/MRP and sourcing tools to monitor procurement processes, supplier performance, and cost metrics effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, electrical engineering, business, or related discipline; advanced degrees such as MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 to 15 years’ progressive experience in global electronics supply chain, sourcing, procurement, or supplier management, with expertise in electronic components and PCB assembly strategies.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing complex initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams at executive levels.
  • In-depth industry knowledge of semiconductor supply chains, passive and active electronics components, PCB assembly, and EMS providers.
  • Established professional relationships with global electronics suppliers, contract manufacturers, and distribution partners.
  • Track record of enhancing supply resilience, reducing total costs, improving supplier performance, and navigating market disruptions.
  • Preferred experience includes working extensively with Asia-based contract manufacturers and suppliers, especially in China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
  • Familiarity with power electronics or related power systems industries is advantageous.
  • Certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or CPIM are desirable.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and financial modeling proficiency.
  • Experience in building or scaling supply chain functions, including developing governance, dashboards, and organizational capabilities in growth-stage companies.
