About the Role
Tesla is looking for a Hardware Product Manager specializing in Vehicle Accessories to join its Global Vehicle Accessories and Merchandise team. This team oversees the Tesla Shop business, focusing on the design, enhancement, and release of aftermarket vehicle accessories for both existing and upcoming Tesla vehicle models.
The role requires wearing multiple hats in a dynamic environment, with broad expertise in product engineering, supply chain management, e-commerce, and material planning/distribution. Collaborating with numerous global stakeholders is key to creating and launching superior products aligned with an international product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and update a product roadmap spanning several hardware items across various vehicle models.
- Lead market research efforts, gather customer feedback, perform competitive analyses to formulate market/product requirements and guide engineering initiatives.
- Partner with engineering teams to define and oversee product development phases including prototyping, design release, validation, tooling initiation, and production scaling.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Design, Engineering, Digital, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Service, and Operations to ensure smooth product experiences.
- Work with Supply Chain to identify and choose manufacturers that fulfill product intent, capacity, quality, and compliance standards.
- Manage all administrative and release procedures related to launching and supporting engineered products within the Tesla Shop ecosystem.
- Develop metrics to evaluate customer satisfaction and product performance to inform lifecycle decisions.
- Continuously improve platforms, workflows, and processes to uphold operational excellence.
Candidate Profile
- A degree in Engineering, a relevant product/business discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of two years experience in product management or development with a record of delivering quality products impacting customers positively.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously across different teams with speed and adaptability.
- A passion for partnering with businesses and customers, prioritizing trust and excellent experiences.
- Proven capability to transform customer insights into highly valued product features.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with strong initiative for launching projects with limited resources.
- Excellence in analytical and quantitative reasoning, leveraging data for informed decisions and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
