Job description

Position Overview

The Product Manager will steer the global strategic development, lifecycle management, and profitability of Goodyear Belts’ Automotive and Industrial Belt product lines. This position entails ownership of the entire product lifecycle, including analyzing markets, benchmarking competitors, defining products, supporting sourcing, overseeing validation and launch, managing catalog data, and continuous portfolio enhancement.

Key Duties

  • Craft and implement product strategies for both Automotive and Industrial Belt segments.
  • Identify market openings by gathering customer insights, evaluating competition, following industry trends, and reviewing market data.
  • Establish and update long-term product roadmaps.
  • Advocate for portfolio improvements and recommend initiatives for optimization.
  • Spot product gaps and global expansion possibilities.
  • Specify new product requirements and enhancements.
  • Lead new product introduction projects from concept through commercial rollout.
  • Coordinate product validation, testing, and launch activities in partnership with relevant teams.
  • Assist sourcing in vetting and choosing manufacturing collaborators.
  • Oversee the entire Automotive and Industrial Belt portfolio, prioritizing based on market demand and revenue potential.
  • Track product lifecycles and identify candidates for expansion, upgrade, or phase-out.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent product information across ERP, PIM, ACES, PIES, and catalogs.
  • Monitor industry technologies, competitors, pricing, and emerging trends.
  • Analyze customer needs in automotive aftermarket, industrial distribution, OEM, agricultural, heavy-duty, HVAC, lawn & garden, and power transmission sectors.
  • Generate competitive benchmarking reports.
  • Collaborate with Sales for major client pursuits and with Marketing on product positioning, technical documentation, and launch assets.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain on inventory and sourcing strategies.
  • Support initiatives for international product expansion.
  • Track key performance indicators such as sales, gross margin, product coverage, new product introductions, availability, and inventory performance.
  • Deliver quarterly business reviews focused on product results and strategic suggestions.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related discipline; MBA is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of product management experience, ideally in automotive aftermarket, industrial power transmission, belts, bearings, motion control, mechanical components, industrial distribution, heavy-duty, or OEM sectors.
  • A strong preference for candidates with exposure to both automotive and industrial products.
  • Technical knowledge across automotive accessory drive systems, serpentine, timing, industrial V-belts, synchronous, variable speed, agricultural, lawn & garden, conveyor belts, and related belt drive and power transmission systems.
  • Experience using ACES, PIES, ERP, PIM, MDM, and product lifecycle management tools.
  • Demonstrated abilities in data-driven decision making, project management, analytical problem solving, multi-project prioritization, effective communication, attention to detail, and leadership within cross-functional settings.
