Overview
This critical leadership role sits at the core of Crypto.com's worldwide trading platform, overseeing the comprehensive product strategy for fiat currency pay-ins and payouts. The position revolves around building an infrastructure that allows millions of retail, private, and institutional users to instantly and dependably move money globally. Reporting to the VP of Product, Banking, the role is directly accountable for metrics such as total funds flow, acceptance rates, settlement velocity, and transaction costs across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance a cross-border payment infrastructure ensuring broad rail coverage and continuous uptime for fiat currency access in all markets.
- Choose and integrate appropriate payment rails tailored to transaction speed needs, accommodating T+0 and T+1 settlements for real-time trading activities.
- Establish and manage banking partnerships aimed at maintaining minimal to zero downtime liquidity for frequent user payouts and trading settlements.
- Improve pay-in acceptance rates via credit/debit cards and bank transfers through optimizing relationships with processors, refining fraud detection, and enhancing compliance measures.
- Lead commercial negotiations and oversee technical implementations for direct banking relationships to secure favorable pricing, dedicated service, and bespoke solutions suited to trading operations.
- Design and maintain a dynamic payment routing engine that optimally selects payment rails based on user segmentation, jurisdiction, currency, required speed, and risk considerations.
- Develop scalable, compliant fiat payment offerings for institutional clientele, including segregated accounts, high-value wire transfers, and bulk payout APIs.
Qualifications and Experience
- 7 to 10+ years in product leadership, with a minimum of 7 years dedicated to payment infrastructure or core banking product domains.
- Proven expertise in building and scaling cross-border payment rails operating in high-volume, real-time environments.
- Direct experience managing bank integrations (beyond white-label PSP solutions) and handling commercial partnership discussions.
- Demonstrated leadership in payment orchestration and in-production dynamic routing logic.
- Background in developing fiat payment solutions customized for institutional users.
- Familiarity with trading, exchange, or fintech industries.
- Strong technical knowledge of complex API products, data pipelines, and payment protocol integrations.
- Hands-on experience with core banking systems and payment schemes, including SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, ACH.
- Experience working with bank partners, payment service providers, and acquiring processors.
- Proven team management skills, with a commitment to cultivating high standards within the team.
- Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management encompassing engineering, legal, compliance, finance, and senior leadership.
