Village Roadshow is a major international organization in media and entertainment, encompassing film exhibition, production, digital distribution, and theme parks in Australia.
Role Overview
The Head of Procurement position oversees purchasing for Village Roadshow Theme Parks, Sea World Resort, and Topgolf. Reporting to the General Manager Finance, this role manages about $200 million in annual indirect expenditures covering food & beverage, retail, facilities, maintenance, utilities, and corporate services. The role offers a chance to establish a centralized procurement function to achieve cost savings, enhance supply continuity, and strengthen governance across multiple operational sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement group-wide procurement strategy and annual category plans for various indirect spend areas.
- Lead strategic sourcing, tendering, and negotiation for significant supply contracts.
- Implement and promote a centralized procurement model across all venues.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including tendering, negotiation, and agreement approval.
- Choose and oversee preferred suppliers, ensuring performance against contractual KPIs.
- Analyze and mitigate risks related to supply chain, commercial, and legal matters.
- Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and procurement portfolio reporting.
- Build and guide a high-performing procurement and purchasing team.
- Serve as a commercial advisor for executive and operational leaders.
- Advance procure-to-pay systems and processes in coordination with Finance and ICT departments.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement leader with success in multifaceted, multi-site operational settings, preferably within tourism, hospitality, entertainment, retail, or FMCG sectors.
- Extensive experience managing large indirect spend portfolios and delivering measurable commercial results.
- Proficiency in strategic sourcing, category management, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Leadership approach focused on coaching and development of high-performing teams.
- Strong negotiation capabilities and the ability to influence stakeholders at executive and supplier levels.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, supply chain, business, or commerce; professional certifications such as CIPS or postgraduate degrees are highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of contract and commercial law.
- Proven ability to lead change and implement centralized procurement models.
- Familiarity with ERP and procure-to-pay systems, with SAP knowledge considered beneficial.
- Resilience and composure during complex, changing, and peak business periods.
