Job description

Role Overview

This position involves delivering quality instruction to students in grades K-4 at Country Parkway Elementary. The role requires establishing a supportive learning environment, designing both long-term and short-term instructional plans, conducting assessments to monitor student progress, and managing related administrative tasks such as attendance and communication with parents.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate teaching aligned with the K-4 grade curriculum creating a positive and engaging classroom climate.
  • Develop comprehensive instructional plans ensuring curriculum coherence and effectiveness.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments to track and support student learning.
  • Perform administrative functions including tracking attendance and maintaining parent communication.

Essential Skills and Characteristics

  • Strong knowledge of Common Core Standards applicable to elementary education.
  • Expertise in curriculum development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of instructional materials.
  • Capability to manage classrooms effectively while differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs.
  • Ability to reflect critically on teaching practices for continuous professional growth.
  • Use of data and assessment tools to identify learning needs and improve student outcomes.
  • Demonstrated empathy, enthusiasm, warmth, and sensitivity toward students.
  • Maintaining high levels of student engagement consistently.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, parents, and administrators.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities fostering positive interactions with the school community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Common Core Learning Standards specifically in Math and English Language Arts.
  • Proficiency integrating technology as an instructional resource.

Additional Information

This role reports directly to the Building Principal. The annual salary range is $47,200 to $53,700 as per the WTA contract. The application deadline is August 3, 2026.
