Job description
Role overview
We are looking for an Analyst with 1–2 years of experience to join an Infrastructure Investment Team at a major European private markets platform. This is a compelling move for someone from M&A or investment banking who wants to shift to the buy side and work across primaries, secondaries, and co-investments in infrastructure.
The platform oversees multi-billion-euro programmes for institutional investors and has a well-established history in European infrastructure investing.
Key responsibilities
- Assist across the entire investment process, including origination, initial assessment, due diligence, transaction execution, and ongoing portfolio oversight.
- Evaluate infrastructure funds as well as direct and co-investment opportunities in Europe and OECD markets.
- Develop and assess financial models such as DCF, LBO, and project or asset-level models, along with return analyses.
- Draft materials for investment committees, including memoranda, presentations, and supporting analysis.
- Help with portfolio construction, performance measurement, and reporting activities.
- Support fundraising efforts and communication with clients.
- Monitor important infrastructure areas such as energy transition, transport, digital infrastructure, utilities, and social infrastructure.
Candidate profile
- 1–2 years of experience in M&A or investment banking.
- Strong capability in financial modelling and valuation.
- Hands-on transaction exposure, including live deals, due diligence, and financial analysis.
- Clear interest in infrastructure and real asset investing.
- Strong academic record.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proactive and detail-focused approach.
- Fluency in both English and German.
