Role Overview

Join His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service at HMP Isle of Wight as an Operational Support Grade, responsible for supporting the daily operations of a busy prison. This role involves diverse duties, including security checks, managing deliveries, supervising visitors, monitoring phone calls and CCTV, and escorting vehicles across the facility. You will balance desk-based tasks with physical activities such as lifting and walking.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform security searches and checks at the prison entrance.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence as driving is integral to the role.

• Good judgement, common sense, and the capability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• No formal qualifications are required, but a proactive and disciplined approach is essential.

Work Pattern and Career Prospects

You will work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring continuous operational support. While direct contact with prisoners is limited, occasional interactions may occur. • Starting salary of £29,432.
