About the Role
Join the Far North Queensland Regional Office to take on a key leadership role focused on delivering impactful outcomes for First Nations communities. As a part of the Regional Implementation team, you will oversee the management of complex projects and programs aimed at driving economic growth, job creation, skill enhancement, and fostering sustainable social, cultural, and economic benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, development, execution, and evaluation of multifaceted projects aligning with departmental, regional, and broader government priorities.
- Serve as a principal regional liaison, developing and maintaining trusted partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, government bodies, industries, and service providers to encourage collaborative, community-led solutions.
- Provide leadership in organizing stakeholder engagement initiatives, forums, and partnership frameworks to support program and project delivery and regional objectives.
- Continuously monitor and analyze regional issues, trends, and opportunities, offering strategic insights and advice to enhance decision-making and inter-agency service provision.
- Prepare comprehensive briefs, reports, correspondence, and submissions to underpin the implementation of regional programs and whole-of-government goals, ensuring advice is evidence-based and strategically sound.
- Contribute leadership to multi-agency initiatives and collective responses addressing regional challenges and prospects, aiming to produce sustainable solutions led by communities.
- Facilitate initiatives that develop capabilities, generate employment, and expand enterprises within First Nations communities.
- Assist with organizing regional and local government events.
- Oversee and support junior team members as needed.
- Collaborate flexibly within a high-performing team culture that promotes respect, safety, and inclusiveness.
