About the Role

This U.S.-based opportunity is for a Principal People Business Partner to play a strategic leadership part within a fast-growing, innovation-driven organization. Rather than executing routine HR programs, you will craft bespoke people strategies aligned with the company's ambitious goals and dynamic needs, driving leadership effectiveness, organizational design, talent retention, and managing change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to design and implement strategic people initiatives that bolster long-term business, product, and commercial results.
  • Lead organizational design and change management projects that create scalable structures enhancing effectiveness and supporting growth.
  • Identify organizational and leadership challenges, offering tailored interventions to improve teamwork, engagement, and productivity.
  • Develop targeted talent management, succession planning, and retention approaches through workforce analytics and close partnership with People Operations and Total Rewards.
  • Prioritize and spearhead impactful people programs that align directly with evolving business conditions.
  • Work with cross-functional units such as Finance, Information Security, Operations, Marketing, and executive teams to ensure alignment of people strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Advance the People Business Partner function by building scalable frameworks, best practices, and nurturing the expansion of the People Partner team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Over 10 years of progressive expertise in strategic people leadership roles such as People Business Partner, HR Business Partner, Organizational Development, or related fields.
  • At least 2 to 3 years experience at a senior leadership level such as Director or Principal.
  • Proven skills in organizational design, change leadership, workforce planning, consulting, and boosting organizational performance.
  • Experience supporting high-growth sectors like AI, deep technology, biotechnology, and research or other innovation-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement scalable organizational models and strategic people initiatives in fast-changing settings.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Organizational Development, or related areas; advanced degrees (MBA, Master's, PhD) are preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen linking people strategy to business goals, product development, and organizational metrics.
  • Excellent consulting, influence, coaching, communication, and stakeholder management abilities, adaptable across diverse teams.
  • Highly analytical and execution-focused, comfortable navigating ambiguity while balancing strategic planning with practical delivery.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary varying by location:
    • Tier 1: $250,000 to $326,000
    • Tier 2: $201,000 to $291,600
    • Tier 3: $185,000 to $259,200
  • Potential for performance-related bonuses.
  • Equity ownership opportunities.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans for employees and eligible dependents, generously supported by the employer.
  • 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
  • Paid parental leave and inclusive family support benefits.
  • Flexible paid time off alongside company-wide seasonal breaks.
  • Flexible remote working options to support work-life balance.
  • Continuous professional growth supported by internal learning, cross-team collaboration, and career advancement.
