Postdoctoral Researcher in Social Sciences – COHAB Project (18 Months)

About the Position

This postdoctoral opportunity is part of the COHAB project, titled "Behind the Scenes: Co-habiting Mountain Spaces in Recreational Areas," under the Isite Program at Université Gustave Eiffel, running from 2026 to 2028. The position is located at Champs-sur-Marne, Université Gustave Eiffel (77420), with field trips planned in the Alps for data collection.

Candidate Profile

• The candidate must hold a Doctorate in social sciences, preferably in geography, urban planning, or sociology.
• Possess strong expertise in tourism and in at least one of the project's three focus areas: labor, housing, or public spaces.
• Have solid knowledge about mountain environments.
• Be familiar with approaches analyzing social power relations and domination, as well as critical analyses of public policies.
• Demonstrate excellent teamwork abilities, strong writing skills, and capacity to disseminate project findings to both academic and professional audiences.
• Master qualitative data collection and analysis techniques (such as observations and semi-structured interviews) and potentially quantitative methods (e.g., surveys).
