Position Details
This role is for a Bioinformatics Scientist working on a contract basis with a remote work setup. The expected work commitment ranges from 10 to 40 hours weekly, with compensation between 90 and 120 USD per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze advanced datasets connected to medicinal chemistry by applying sophisticated bioinformatics techniques.
- Contribute scientific knowledge to aid in the development and refining of AI models, particularly in medicinal chemistry contexts.
- Manage, annotate, and ensure quality of datasets crucial for drug discovery and molecular studies.
- Integrate and evaluate results derived from biological, chemical, and clinical information sources.
- Act as a subject matter expert guiding experimental planning and interpretation of data within medicinal chemistry.
- Critically assess AI outputs for accuracy, relevance, and dependability.
- Provide detailed written insights and constructive feedback to improve AI model performance.
Requirements
- Possess an advanced academic qualification such as a PhD or MSc in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, or related fields.
- Comprehensive understanding of medicinal chemistry, including drug design and structure-activity relationship principles.
- Proven experience in processing and interpreting large-scale omics or cheminformatics datasets.
- Knowledgeable with bioinformatics software and programming languages such as Python, R, RDKit, and KNIME.
- Excellent scientific communication skills with the capacity to clearly explain complex scientific and technical information.
- Documented history of involvement in research at the convergence of biology, chemistry, and data science.
