Job Overview
The Plant & Equipment Inspector Lead will be responsible for coordinating with clients to execute the inspection process of plant and equipment in accordance with client systems and procedures. This leadership role requires ensuring equipment compliance and safety inspections on oil and gas construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, project management, and regional Plant & Equipment departments to ensure compliance with stipulated equipment standards and documentation.
- Oversee and delegate inspection duties to subordinate inspectors, guaranteeing timely completion of all inspection tasks.
- Organize and conduct thorough safety inspections focusing on critical safety features including brakes, lights, tires, seat belts, emergency switches, and warning systems to maintain adherence to safety regulations.
- Monitor the inspection process closely, ensuring timely inspections, periodic renewals, and proper documentation management.
- Identify and assess hazards related to equipment use such as improper handling, unsafe actions, and unreliable machinery, promoting a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering.
- A minimum of 15 years of work experience, with at least 5 years spent in the oil and gas industry.
- Familiarity with construction machinery like cranes, earth-moving equipment, vehicles, power generators, and lifting gear.
- In-depth understanding of equipment specifications, safety systems/devices, and regulatory requirements relevant to oil and gas construction sites.
- Excellent coordination, communication, documentation skills, and proficiency in computer applications.
Preferred Additional Qualification
LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) certification or equivalent lifting equipment inspection qualification is advantageous.
