Role Overview
This contract position is for a plant biology specialist working remotely from Canada. The work centers on producing research outputs that support AI training, with a focus on plant science, genetics, and cellular biology.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out in-depth study of plant biology, genetics, and cellular mechanisms for use in AI training datasets.
- Gather plant samples from a range of environments, then assess and record the findings in a structured way.
- Work with cross-functional teams to convert biological knowledge into data that can be used by AI models.
- Plan and run experiments that examine how plants respond to different environmental conditions.
- Combine biology with related concepts from chemistry and geology to improve data quality and project results.
- Write and present findings clearly in both written and spoken form, including scientific recommendations.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline is required; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred for more advanced research work.
- Strong command of plant biology, genetics, and molecular methods.
- Practical ability in sample collection, data interpretation, and experimental planning.
- Comfort applying knowledge from chemistry and geology in a biological research context.
- Excellent scientific writing and speaking skills.
- Prior exposure to laboratory environments and research instruments.
Compensation
