Role Overview

This contract position is for a plant biology specialist working remotely from Canada. The work centers on producing research outputs that support AI training, with a focus on plant science, genetics, and cellular biology.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out in-depth study of plant biology, genetics, and cellular mechanisms for use in AI training datasets.
Gather plant samples from a range of environments, then assess and record the findings in a structured way.
Work with cross-functional teams to convert biological knowledge into data that can be used by AI models.
Plan and run experiments that examine how plants respond to different environmental conditions.
Combine biology with related concepts from chemistry and geology to improve data quality and project results.
Write and present findings clearly in both written and spoken form, including scientific recommendations.

Candidate Profile

A bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline is required; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred for more advanced research work.
Strong command of plant biology, genetics, and molecular methods.
Practical ability in sample collection, data interpretation, and experimental planning.
Comfort applying knowledge from chemistry and geology in a biological research context.
Excellent scientific writing and speaking skills.
Prior exposure to laboratory environments and research instruments.

Compensation

The role offers pay in the range of $40 to $60 per hour.
