  • Reflect on lesson effectiveness and adjust planning, provision, and curriculum accordingly.
  • Work with specialists such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when needed.
  • Embed the school’s Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout teaching.
  • Take ownership of class progress and use assessment data to shape future planning and interventions.
  • Maintain assessment and recording requirements using Target Tracker.
  • Share student progress with parents and carers during conferences and other meetings.
  • Follow the school’s behaviour policy and manage classes effectively.
  • Use appropriate approaches to challenge, motivate, and support students’ needs.
  • Model the positive behaviour, attitudes, and values expected of pupils.
  • Promote self-control, independence, and high expectations of conduct.
  • Complete duties and other responsibilities as directed under school policy.
  • Contribute to curriculum action groups, including planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
  • Support school events, outings, and activities that may take place on weekends or in the evening.
  • Communicate with parents and carers about achievement and well-being through school systems such as CPOMS.
  • Play an active role in the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • Lead one weekly extracurricular activity each term.

  • Strong enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to educating the whole child.
  • Professional conduct with careful attention to student well-being.
  • Recent and regular involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Respectful of people from all roles, genders, ages, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • A positive, practical, and solution-oriented approach to work.
