Job Overview
Join Canada Post as a Permanent Flexible Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier based in Terrebonne, Quebec. This role involves delivering mail across various rural and suburban areas, working primarily on weekends with guaranteed 20 hours weekly including weekends and Mondays, with additional hours potentially available.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort, collect, and deliver mail items punctually and safely.
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of local routes, roads, and delivery points.
- Securely handle and safeguard mail during delivery operations.
- Manage various Canada Post product processes such as Change of Address and Damaged Mail.
- Wear and display proper identification while performing delivery duties.
- Lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds (22.7 kg).
- Operate a motor vehicle safely under all weather and traffic conditions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a valid permanent provincial driver's license (class 5 or G).
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record (driver's abstract needed).
- Experience with delivery driving across diverse conditions is essential.
- Vehicle must have at least 100 cubic feet (2832 liters) of cargo space, metal rooftop and power outlet for signage installation, fifth door or hatchback preferred for bulky load accommodation.
- Provide and sustain requisite automobile liability insurance and notify insurer about vehicle use for work.
Work Schedule and Location
- Primary work location for weekdays: 2800 Boul. des Entreprises, Terrebonne, J6X 4J.
- Weekend location: 5111 François Bricault, Montréal, H1B 5V3.
- Scheduled days: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
- Unscheduled days: Thursday and Friday.
- Rotational days off: Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Minimum 20 guaranteed work hours per week with opportunities for additional hours.
