About the Role

Canada Post seeks a Postmaster to serve as a community leader and representative, responsible for promoting postal products and services to individuals and businesses. This role, reporting to the Superintendent/Local Area Manager, requires supervising staff and ensuring customer satisfaction in a dynamic, multi-priority retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with the local community to communicate about Canada Post's services and products.
  • Promote and sell a variety of postal products and services.
  • Oversee post office operations to align with retail hours and delivery commitments.
  • Manage revenue, assets, and values associated with postal services.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary reports.
  • Supervise employee performance including training and assessment.
  • Support effective management of mail delivery routes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with experience in business administration preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience interacting with the public in retail or service settings, including handling sales and cash.
  • Familiarity with postal service regulations, procedures, and mail processing.
  • Physical capability to lift mail containers up to 50 pounds, push/pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for long durations.

  • Service hours are determined by Canada Post and subject to adjustment as needed.
  • Applicants must be able to manage post office hours and delivery expectations effectively.
