About the role

This position sits within People Operations, whose mission is to reshape HR with the same ambition that transformed search. The team focuses on attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent while supporting Googlers and the broader business with people decisions grounded in data.

As a People Partner, you will act as a strategic advisor to business leaders, helping them grow teams, strengthen culture, and make clear, transparent people decisions. The role involves coaching leaders, handling employee relations matters, and guiding programs that improve team effectiveness and employee development.

Compensation is influenced by job-related skills, relevant experience, and applicable education or training. In the US, the pay range is $171,000 to $248,000 annually, with a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.

Minimum qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of practical experience.
  • At least 9 years working as an HR business partner or generalist supporting executive-level leaders in global organizations.
  • Hands-on experience leading organization-wide transformation across several regions and blending established teams with new capabilities and talent.
  • Broad HR experience covering organizational design, succession planning, workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement, business consulting, compensation and rewards, recognition, culture stewardship, coaching and development, talent management, conflict resolution, talent acquisition, data analysis, and employee relations.

Preferred qualifications

  • A master’s degree or MBA.
  • The ability to study data, identify trends, and convert findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with executive leaders and diverse stakeholders to support organizational change.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

  • Advise Vice President-level clients on organization design, leadership growth, team dynamics, location strategy, and overall organizational health.
  • Bring depth in talent management, performance management, change management, leadership coaching, data analysis and insights, employee relations, and strategic planning.
  • Turn strong business understanding into actionable people and team strategy insights, and work with leaders to shape a full people plan that drives durable change across major Google functions.
  • Provide strategic thinking on people plans and ensure implementation runs smoothly, including partnering on the definition, design, launch, and rollout of change initiatives.
  • Identify root causes in complex situations and create fast, effective solutions that may span multiple disciplines beyond standard people or organizational approaches.
