Job description

Role Overview

Join a key operational organisation undergoing major cultural and organisational change as their People Director. This pivotal leadership position involves unifying previously separate operations with differing systems and management approaches into one high-performing, compliant entity. You'll spearhead transformation efforts across the People function, overseeing HR, industrial and employee relations, talent acquisition, learning & development, organisational capability, and inclusion for around 750 employees.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a People strategy aligned with organisational transformation and culture shift
  • Evaluate and enhance people systems, processes, compliance, and management methods
  • Drive strategic human resource activities, including workforce planning, talent management, learning, employee and industrial relations, and fostering inclusion
  • Develop and maintain proactive industrial relations, collaborating effectively with employee representatives and facilitating change
  • Lead and develop the People team to meet future organisational needs
  • Utilize people data insights to inform best practices and track progress
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and performance as part of the Executive Team

Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive senior HR leadership experience within a complex, operational setting
  • Proven success in leading organisational change, transitions, or cultural transformations
  • Ability to assess current practices thoroughly and create actionable improvement plans
  • Comprehensive knowledge across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent, learning, employee relations, and organisational development
  • Strong grasp of Irish employment law and industrial relations, or willingness to quickly gain this expertise
  • Experience managing unionised environments effectively
  • Resilience, sound judgement, and capacity to balance ongoing transformations with daily operational demands

Location and Working Conditions

This position is based in Dublin and requires frequent onsite presence across multiple operational sites. Remote working is limited to one day per week. Flexibility is essential to support a 24/7 operational environment.
