Job description

Role overview

City of Wagga Wagga is seeking a People & Culture Systems Analyst to strengthen workforce decisions through the smart use of systems, data and people-focused support. The role blends HR systems administration, analytics, reporting, implementation support and change management, with a strong focus on helping leaders and employees adopt new tools and processes.

What you'll do

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day administration, upkeep and ongoing enhancement of Council’s HRIS and other People & Culture systems.
  • Support system projects such as implementations, upgrades, integrations and feature improvements while maintaining system reliability and data integrity.
  • Create dashboards, reports and workforce analytics that give managers and leaders timely, practical insights.
  • Review workforce trends and data to inform strategic workforce planning and broader organisational decisions.
  • Coordinate benchmarking activities, remuneration reviews and participation in industry surveys.
  • Assist with the administration of Council’s Salary and Progression System through reporting and analysis.
  • Design training materials and provide support to employees and managers using People & Culture systems.
  • Lead change activities tied to new technology, systems and workforce initiatives.
  • Look for ways to improve processes, reporting quality and the overall user experience within People & Culture systems.

What the role offers

  • A permanent full-time position.
  • Pay of $3,663.70 gross per fortnight, with progression available to $4,396.44 gross per fortnight, plus 12% superannuation.
  • Access to Council’s Flexible Working Hours Agreement.
  • An opportunity to help shape strategic workforce initiatives within one of the Riverina’s largest employers.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have experience working with HRIS or workforce management platforms, a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. You should be comfortable supporting implementation work, guiding change, building reports and dashboards, and partnering with a wide range of stakeholders.

Selection focus questions

  • Share an example of when you administered, implemented or improved an HRIS or enterprise business system. What did you do, and what changed as a result?
  • Describe a time when you examined workforce or business data and used your findings to shape decisions or recommendations.
  • Tell us about a time you introduced a new system, process or technology that required stakeholder engagement and change management. How did you drive adoption?
  • Provide an example of when you identified a way to improve a business process or system. What actions did you take and what outcomes followed?

Application process

Applications close on Sunday, 26 July 2026 at 11:59pm AEST, and interviews are planned for the week beginning Monday, 3 August 2026. If you would like more details, you can contact Fiona Piltz, Director Economy, Business & Workforce, on 02 6926 9283.
