About the Role
The People & Culture Manager will take ownership of comprehensive HR support for designated divisions, collaborating closely with leadership and personnel throughout the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance monitoring, and engagement activities. This role involves close partnership with the VP of People & Culture on sensitive issues and coordination with the People Operations Specialist on HRIS management, benefits, and data reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as the main HR liaison for assigned units, offering guidance to leaders regarding employee relations, performance, and talent management.
- Drive recruitment processes including conducting intake meetings, screening candidates, and supporting hiring managers.
- Oversee employee onboarding, promotions, transfers, and terminations while maintaining accurate records and ensuring HRIS data integrity.
- Provide counsel on employee relations issues, conduct investigations as necessary, and suggest resolutions compliant with employment regulations.
- Guide managers through performance discussions, development planning, and corrective measures including performance improvement plans.
- Promote and maintain company culture and values, especially amid organizational transitions.
- Organize and execute employee engagement programs.
- Collaborate with People Operations on updating HRIS records, managing documentation, and compiling reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Between 6 to 12 years’ experience managing full lifecycle People & Culture or HR operations within a B2B technology firm.
- Proven expertise in performance management, including coaching managers and handling performance improvement plans.
- Experience providing HR support to senior executives (VP, SVP, CEO-level) in companies sized 50 to 250 employees.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in dynamic, rapidly changing environments.
- Experience supporting diverse employee groups including engineering, product, and data teams.
- Demonstrated career growth and/or a strongly collaborative approach to work.
- Confidence in interacting with and constructively challenging leadership.
- Prior experience using Paylocity HRIS is advantageous.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
The role offers an annual base salary ranging from $145,000 to $170,000, depending on experience. This is a full-time position based in New York City, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days weekly onsite. Visa sponsorship is not provided.
