Job Overview

The Director of HR & People Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and responsive human resource operations to maintain workforce stability, support employee relations, and uphold high-quality program delivery. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, this leadership position oversees essential HR functions while collaborating with organizational leadership to align HR initiatives with Morrison’s mission and service requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage core HR areas such as employee relations, compliance, policy administration, leaves, compensation, benefits, and HR systems.
  • Guarantee accurate and timely HR processes across the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Maintain robust internal controls related to personnel records, audits, and documentation.
  • Lead and mentor HR staff to foster professional growth.
  • Define clear roles, workflows, and service standards within the HR team.
  • Promote a culture emphasizing accountability, responsiveness, and teamwork.
  • Handle complex employee relations issues including investigations and conflict resolutions.
  • Serve as a reliable advisor to leaders, ensuring practical and compliant HR guidance.
  • Collaborate with external HR consultants to align support efforts effectively.
  • Partner with organizational leaders on workforce planning and recruiting strategies.
  • Supervise recruitment and onboarding processes to fulfill timely hiring objectives.
  • Utilize workforce data analytics to identify trends and improve retention.
  • Assess and enhance HR operational processes for increased efficiency.
  • Improve HRIS utilization and analytics capabilities.
  • Support cross-departmental process enhancements aligned with organizational goals.
  • Adhere and contribute actively to Morrison’s Compliance Program, including mandatory trainings related to HIPAA, fraud prevention, and privacy policies; ensuring timely reporting of concerns.
  • Implement compliance monitoring and corrective actions alongside Quality & Compliance leadership.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies by participating in ongoing development and training.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Work, Public Administration, or similar disciplines.
  • Over 10 years of progressive responsibility in Human Resources, including leadership roles overseeing teams and initiatives.
  • Proven experience supporting frontline leaders in complex and accountable settings such as healthcare or social services.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, regulatory compliance, and leadership coaching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within nonprofit or human services sectors.
  • Professional HR certifications like SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM-CP.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The work setting includes clinical offices, community and residential locations, administrative sites, and public venues. Interruptions during breaks and meals are common. Safety precautions are essential due to potential exposure to violence, disease, and biohazards. The role requires emotional resilience when serving trauma-affected populations and the physical capability to perform duties including interventions when trained.

  • Hourly wage ranging from $56.25 to $62.66, equating to an annual salary between $117,000 and $130,300.
