Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is offered through a hiring partner that handles the application process and all subsequent steps. The employer is seeking a People & Culture Advisor in Canada.

The role is a strong fit for an HR professional who wants to grow in a consulting setting where every day brings a mix of learning, variety, and impact. You will support a broad group of clients across Canada, helping them improve people practices and foster healthier workplace cultures. The position blends practical HR operations with advisory responsibilities, exposing you to employee relations, hiring support, policy work, and engagement initiatives. You will work closely with experienced HR consultants who will coach and guide your development. The environment is energetic, people-centric, and fast-moving, with meaningful work spanning multiple industries. It is well suited to someone who is curious, adaptable, and motivated to build a consulting mindset early in their HR career.

Key accountabilities

  • Deliver everyday HR assistance to clients, including support with employee relations questions, policy changes, and general people-advisory needs.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives such as engagement activities, policy creation, and broader organizational projects.
  • Help with recruitment and onboarding workflows, including coordination through HRIS and ATS tools.
  • Assist with the rollout and upkeep of HR systems and tools that improve operational efficiency.
  • Support consulting assignments by balancing priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing client expectations.
  • Partner with senior consultants to deliver customized HR solutions across different industries.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and administrative support for active client work.

What the employer is looking for

The ideal candidate brings early-career to mid-level HR experience and a genuine interest in developing within a consulting environment. You should be curious, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and quick to learn on the job.

  • Post-secondary training in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related area.
  • At least 3 years of HR experience, including internships, co-op placements, or early professional roles.
  • Currently working toward CPHR, or planning to pursue the designation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Comfort using HR systems such as HRIS and ATS platforms.
  • Well organized, with strong attention to detail and solid time management.
  • Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Flexible, proactive, and eager to learn in a consulting-style workplace.
  • Positive attitude, sense of humour, and a people-first approach.

Benefits and work environment

  • Competitive annual compensation of CAD 63,000 to 75,000.
  • Remote-first setup with occasional travel to client sites in the Victoria/Vancouver region.
  • Exposure to a wide mix of industries, including public, private, and not-for-profit organizations.
  • Mentoring and practical learning from experienced HR professionals.
  • Opportunities to build consulting, advisory, and project management capabilities.
  • Support for professional development and progress toward CPHR.
  • Inclusive, collaborative team culture centered on growth and impact.
  • Work that contributes to workplace transformation across Canada.

Hiring and privacy information

The hiring partner uses an AI-supported matching process to review applications fairly and quickly against the role’s core requirements. The best-fitting candidates are shortlisted and shared with the hiring employer, while interviews, assessments, and final decisions are managed internally by their team.

By applying, you acknowledge that your personal information will be processed to assess your candidacy and shared with the hiring employer where relevant. This processing is based on legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. You may exercise your rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing at any time.

The recruitment process may also use AI tools to support tasks such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, and checking for inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials. These tools assist the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people.
