Role overview

Our client, a company operating in the commercial and industrial construction sector, is looking for a Payroll Analyst to join its team in Evansville, Indiana. This is a full-time onsite position for someone who can handle payroll operations with accuracy, urgency, and strong attention to detail.

What you will do

In this role, you will oversee payroll processing for both Canadian and U.S. employees and make sure payroll activities are completed accurately, on time, and in line with applicable laws and internal standards.

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Canadian and U.S. staff while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Review payroll results through variance analysis and quickly investigate and correct inconsistencies.
  • Reconcile payroll records and ensure payroll transactions are recorded and reported accurately.
  • Apply Davis-Bacon Act requirements across payroll-related processes.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance to align payroll data with other business systems.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management review and decision-making.
  • Keep up with changes in payroll and tax rules and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and payroll information as needed.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate should bring at least 3 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in construction, along with strong technical and analytical capability. Experience with variance analysis, cross-border payroll, reconciliation, and Davis-Bacon compliance is especially important.

  • At least 3 years of payroll processing experience, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Practical knowledge of variance analysis, Canadian payroll, U.S. payroll, reconciliation, and Davis-Bacon compliance.
  • Solid understanding of payroll systems, payroll rules, and related regulations.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and a detail-focused approach.
  • Good problem-solving ability with confidence in identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Experience using payroll software and associated systems.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
