About the Role

At Soho House, the Runner position acts as an essential link supporting smooth and efficient service between the kitchen and the front-of-house team. The Runner ensures prompt delivery of food and beverages while maintaining the tidiness and organisation of service areas to enhance the overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Swiftly transport food and drinks from kitchen or bar to members' tables in designated dining areas.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness and orderliness in the work environment.
• Oversee service for an assigned section, providing attentive and accountable service.
• Build meaningful rapport with members to deliver personalized and memorable service.
• Polish and prepare cutlery to ensure readiness for service.
• Set up table additions such as lemon wraps, condiments, and butter portions in advance.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, including station setup and breakdown.
• Handle and store all service equipment carefully and properly.
• Attend regular meetings with kitchen and front-of-house teams to stay informed on menu updates, specials, and participate in tastings.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar upscale dining environment.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of food and beverages, including expertise in wine service.
• Exhibit strong teamwork abilities, interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach.
• Maintain a confident, polished, and professional presence.
• Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Be familiar with POS systems and reservation management software.
