Position Summary
The role involves creating prescription orders in compliance with all pharmacy protocols and accurately inputting prescription data into the processing system.
Work Schedule
The shift falls between Monday and Friday from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM, accommodating a part-time remote working arrangement with evening and weekend hours required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform standard pharmacy-related tasks following established protocols.
- Protect patient confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
- Confirm patient identity through details like date of birth and address prior to processing orders.
- Verify complete and precise prescription information before entry.
- Update and maintain patient profiles.
- Follow and reinforce all company policies and procedures.
- Conduct PD3Q verifications before final submission of orders.
- Carry out any additional assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- For Florida residents: Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in Florida or actively enrolled in a pharmacy licensure program with a valid intern license.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Capability to enter 30 prescriptions per hour via mail, phone, or fax.
- Ability to process 60 prescriptions per hour electronically.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Competence to manage multiple tasks or interruptions simultaneously.
- Excellent, patient, and courteous communication skills.
- Collaborative team player supporting pharmacists, cross-departmental staff, and management.
- Self-motivated to work independently and consistently meet daily objectives.
- Accurate execution of repetitive tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams and Outlook for team communication and professional correspondence.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The job is based in a standard office setting requiring extended periods of sitting at a computer. Tasks require good hand-eye coordination and dexterity to operate typical office tools, computers, and telephones. Occasionally there may be stressful interactions with customers or clients. Some travel may be necessary.
