Role overview
Teleste is looking for a highly organized, practical HR and payroll professional to support people operations across North America. In this part-time role, you will act as the main HR point of contact for employees and managers in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, while collaborating closely with the HR team in Finland on everyday administration, payroll coordination, recruiting, employee relations, and benefits support.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the main HR contact for managers and employees across North America.
- Coordinate with the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) in the assigned regions.
- Keep employee files and HR documentation accurate and up to date.
- Update US employee master data in the global HR platform.
- Handle payroll processing and manage payroll-related changes with the PEO.
- Run annual open enrollment and support benefits administration with the PEO.
- Assist with leave administration and HR compliance tasks.
- Respond to employee queries about payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
- Support recruiting for the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, including job posting, sourcing candidates, interview scheduling, offer coordination, and onboarding.
- Work with managers on employee relations issues and workplace concerns.
- Prepare HR reports and maintain workforce data.
- Take on additional projects as assigned.
- Contribute to global HR initiatives aligned with the annual HR calendar and fiscal-year plans.
- Coordinate with Finance and Controlling (F&C) and other support teams in the U.S. and Europe.
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in HR, recruiting, and payroll.
- Background in an HR role within the technology sector.
- Experience working in an international business environment.
- Strong understanding of U.S. employment practices and HR operations.
- Hands-on experience with candidate sourcing, recruiting, and employee relations.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- High level of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and HR/payroll systems.
- Exposure to U.S. and international PEOs is a plus.
Work location and schedule
This is a remote role, with preference for candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones. The position is part-time with flexible scheduling during Eastern or Central business hours. Some work outside standard hours may be needed to coordinate with teams in Finland and the rest of Europe.
Reporting line
The role reports to the SVP of Human Resources, Teleste Group in Finland.

Compensation and benefits
The salary range is USD 60,000 to 80,000 annually on a base salary basis, calculated for a schedule averaging 3 days per week. In addition, the role includes an annual company bonus plan and a cell phone stipend paid each pay period. Teleste also provides medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, along with vacation and sick time, plus a competitive 401(k) plan with employer contributions.
