Role Overview

The Community Specialist plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences while authentically representing lululemon’s culture and community. This position involves educating customers on product features, supporting community engagement strategies, organizing and attending events, and fostering relationships with local influencers, brand Ambassadors, and community partners. The role actively promotes the store as a community hub and supports brand presence at local gyms and studios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to ensure outstanding service while respecting their time.
  • Assess individual customer needs to provide tailored purchase and return solutions.
  • Deliver technical education about lululemon products, emphasizing their benefits and value.
  • Assist floor team members in meeting guest needs and facilitating smooth transactions, including omnichannel initiatives like ship-from-store programs.
  • Maintain dynamic presence on the sales floor, continuously engaging guests and addressing store needs.
  • Collect guest feedback and collaborate with leadership to resolve issues promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Collaborate with store leadership to implement community-building strategies and enhance guest experience.
  • Lead efforts aligned with the company’s Move Strategy, ensuring consistency with brand and community objectives.
  • Coordinate team involvement in targeted gym and studio sessions to foster authentic connections and boost brand visibility.
  • Build and sustain key local relationships with Ambassadors, Sweat Collective members, studio owners, athletes, and community influencers to increase guest acquisition and retention.
  • Identify new Ambassador and partner opportunities within the local community to elevate the store’s role as a vibrant community hub.
  • Participate in and support hosting local and regional community events and initiatives.
  • Manage the product seeding strategy through active engagement with community partners and Ambassadors.
  • Analyze community-related business data and metrics to provide insights and recommendations to store leadership.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable team atmosphere that celebrates diversity and supports collective productivity.

Candidate Requirements and Eligibility

  • Must be legally authorized to work in New Zealand (or the country where the store is located).
  • Reliable transportation to commute to the assigned store location is necessary.
  • Candidates should have at least 1 year of retail or sales experience.
  • Active engagement in the local fitness and wellness community is essential to bring genuine connections and insights.
  • Flexible availability to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasionally early mornings or late nights during peak periods or special events, in compliance with local labor laws.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in building or nurturing relationships with clients, groups, or partners is a plus.
  • Previous experience motivating team members to achieve goals is beneficial but not required.
