This part-time role based in London, Ontario, involves more than just driving — it is about providing compassionate, door-to-door transit service that supports independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver reliable door-to-door transportation for passengers unable to use standard city transit services.
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting vehicles, maneuvering wheelchairs, securing seat belts, handling assistive devices, and providing aid during transit.
• Offer excellent customer service by providing information on fares, schedules, and stops to passengers.
• Conduct basic vehicle inspections at the start of each shift to ensure safe operating conditions.

Qualifications and Profile

• Hold a valid G, B, C, or F class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Pass a clean criminal record check including vulnerable sector screening.
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills with patience, compassion, and empathy.
• Comfortable working around service animals and physically capable of meeting job demands including pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting for extended periods (8 to 10 hours).
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in verbal and written English communication (approximately B2 to C1 level).
• Relevant experience in a similar driving or assistance role or experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Good knowledge of London's street network and confident navigation skills.
• Willingness to work within a unionized environment.
• Availability for part-time shifts ranging from 12 to 24 hours per week, with opportunities to pick up extra shifts.

Work Schedule and Location

• Shift times are flexible and may vary. Day shifts generally start between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, ending between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
• Evening shifts usually begin between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM and end between 10:00 PM and midnight.
• Service operates seven days a week including holidays, with shifts covering days, evenings, and weekends.
• All shifts start and finish at 573 Admiral Court, London.
