About the Role and Workplace

Join a prestigious independent grammar school located in the Tweed Heads region, Northern NSW, renowned for maintaining high educational standards and fostering a vibrant community. This is a part-time position onsite, perfect for those passionate about contributing to children's development in a supportive environment.

Working Hours and Compensation

  • Before School Care shifts run from 7:00 AM to 8:45 AM
  • After School Care from 2:15 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Vacation Care hours are flexible, up to 38 hours weekly
  • Workdays are Monday through Friday, guaranteed on all school days
  • Hourly wage ranges between $47 to $50 plus a 12% superannuation contribution
  • Additional Worker Retention Payment of $2.00 to $2.15 extra per hour applies
  • Split shift allowance of $20.42 per day for working preferred hours

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead engaging, fun, and educational activities including science experiments, sports, and creative arts for children
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment ensuring every child feels valued
  • Prepare nutritious and delicious snacks to maintain children's energy
  • Collaborate with Program Engagement Manager and compliance team for service quality and assessment standards
  • Maintain excellent communication and relationships with all stakeholders to support integrated OOSH programs
  • Manage daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

  • Holding or working towards a Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Teaching, School Age Care, Community Services, Youth Work or related fields (desired but not mandatory)
  • Possess or willingness to obtain valid Working With Children Check, Child Protection Training, First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management certifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage, build trust, and effectively connect with children, staff, and school leadership
  • Positive, approachable attitude with a proactive approach to challenges
