About the Role
The Records and Information Management Leader for Oceania plays a pivotal part in supporting the data risk framework within the business. This person is responsible for overseeing records and information lifecycle governance to enhance productivity, enforce compliance, and reduce risks for the company, employees, and clients. The role involves implementing, consulting on, and advising across Global RIM programs and initiatives in the Oceania region, covering creation, usage, storage, retention, awareness, compliance, technology, and performance management.
The position can be based in any of the company's offices in Aotearoa and may offer flexible or reduced working hours upon discussion.
Key Responsibilities
- Use expert knowledge in records and information management (RIM) to act as a trusted advisor responsible for delivering global RIM initiatives and ensuring local processes align with global policies and standards.
- Advance the RIM program's maturity and compliance in Oceania through monitoring, testing, and reinforcement according to the company's compliance framework.
- Monitor use of service delivery tools, manage storage systems and archives, and facilitate the proper disposal of records, including managing external paper storage contracts.
- Provide business advice and primary contact support for RIM-related queries, incident reports, client audits, privacy assessments, and organizational changes such as acquisitions or divestitures.
- Build and sustain strategic internal relationships by regularly engaging with business leaders and enablement teams to raise awareness, identify risks, and capitalize on opportunities related to RIM.
- Participate actively in regional RIM community networks to exchange knowledge, offer feedback, and help refine risk mitigation strategies.
- Deliver training and awareness sessions covering policy, industry best practices, compliance reporting, and team performance.
- Lead change initiatives aimed at evolving and enhancing RIM effectiveness within Oceania and globally.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned and adhere to lawful instructions from the Firm.
Desired Skills and Attributes

- Communicate complex technical RIM and compliance topics clearly to a varied global audience including senior leadership.
- Act as a persuasive leader and trusted consultant who drives organizational change and enforces compliance within corporate settings.
- Employ strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage incidents and mitigate data risk.
- Maintain strong attention to detail for lifecycle management, compliance monitoring, and routine disposals.
- Take ownership of implementing and executing global RIM programs and standards locally.
- Have experience developing and managing governance and risk frameworks, including control design, risk evaluation, reporting, and execution of corrective actions.
Preferred but Optional:
- Qualifications related to Records or Information Management.
- Comfort with analytics, AI, and agent workflow technologies.
- High digital and data literacy to evaluate systems and challenge poor practices.
- Familiarity with Power Platform automation tools.
