Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced FIFO Village Manager for a permanent full-time position operating on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster based in multiple locations across Western Australia. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who excels in communication and is passionate about managing people and business operations within a supportive and customer-focused team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all village operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery under the IFMS contract, meeting both budgetary and contractual key performance indicators.
  • Manage and support Heads of Department across Accommodation, Food & Beverage, and other village services.
  • Regularly liaise with clients and management to monitor performance, identify issues, and implement improvements.
  • Communicate consistently with employees and customers regarding operational goals, occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental concerns, and developments.
  • Develop and implement quality procedures aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction for accommodation services.
  • Collect and analyze user satisfaction data, preparing detailed reports for management review.
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations, audits, and non-conformance reporting with timely follow-ups.
  • Ensure punctual submission of site summaries, banking information, and required operational reports to Head Office according to company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure all equipment complies with client and manufacturer standards.
  • Manage staffing levels in partnership with the Operations Manager to maintain operational coverage as per required hours.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to comply with safety standards.
  • Identify and deliver training programs aligned with company policies and legislative obligations.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives to attract and retain talent during recruitment processes.
  • Manage and execute disciplinary actions within regulatory and company frameworks alongside the Operations Manager.
  • Design and lead employee engagement activities, including workshops and strategy sessions across various organizational levels.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to support employee engagement aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to identify and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Facilitate OHS toolbox talks, drills, meetings, and pre-start activities complying with company and client expectations.
  • Monitor and manage resource consumption, including energy and water, implementing conservation measures where feasible.
  • Develop and manage new environmental, safety, and training programs initiated by senior management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with staff and management across the organization.
  • Regularly review OHS manuals, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
  • Implement and enforce HSEQ management systems, emergency responses, and business continuity plans on site.
  • Support injury management processes for safe return-to-work outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with service agreements and KPIs to optimize village performance.
  • Maintain high standards across kitchen, cleaning, accommodation management systems, financial reporting, and facility operations.
  • Promptly identify and resolve any safety or environmental issues, implementing improvements proactively.
  • Keep all documentation updated, accurate, and easily accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Investigate and apply improvements suggested by clients and employees promptly and appropriately.
  • Coordinate and complete daily, weekly, and monthly operational and safety meetings and inspections.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven track record of effective people and team management.
  • Experience managing service operations successfully.
  • Completion of Appointed Person (Section 44) training.
  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ regulations, chemical handling, food safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite at an intermediate level.

Qualifications and Eligibility

  • At least four years of management experience in hospitality, facility management, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing teams and projects effectively.
  • Australian citizenship or full rights to work in Australia.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment medical checks including drug and alcohol testing and police verification.
  • Valid full Western Australia manual driver's license.
