Position Overview
Pikes Peak Post Acute is looking for a reliable and well-organized Nurse Scheduler/Staffing Coordinator to support nursing department coverage. This full-time onsite role focuses on keeping shifts staffed appropriately so resident care needs are met while staying within budget, census expectations, and facility rules.
The right person will bring strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities, along with the confidence to handle staffing coordination in a busy healthcare setting.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this role is $21.00 to $25.00 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available. The position is offered as stable full-time employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and manage nursing schedules so every shift has suitable coverage.
- Review staffing needs using resident census, acuity levels, budget limits, and regulatory expectations.
- Arrange backup coverage for call-outs, vacation time, leaves, and unfilled shifts.
- Keep staffing logs, schedules, and attendance records accurate and current.
- Share schedule updates and staffing changes quickly with nursing team members and leadership.
- Partner with the Director of Nursing and facility leadership to resolve staffing issues.
- Monitor attendance, lateness, and absenteeism as instructed.
- Help coordinate onboarding schedules and staffing support for new employees.
- Maintain compliance with labor laws, internal policies, and staffing standards.
- Respond quickly to staffing gaps and emergencies to help secure coverage.
- Protect the privacy of employee and resident information.
- Build and maintain professional working relationships across nursing, management, and administration.
- Carry out clerical and administrative tasks connected to staffing and scheduling.
- Support special assignments and complete other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in scheduling, staffing, or healthcare administration is preferred.
- Background in a skilled nursing facility, post-acute setting, or similar healthcare environment is highly desirable.
- Strong planning and time-management abilities.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, stay organized, and work to deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional judgment and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
