Job description
Role Overview
This position helps keep the facility running smoothly by overseeing business office processes and guiding office team members.
Key Duties
- Coordinate managed care and Medi-Cal/Medicaid approvals, including bedhold arrangements.
- Support resident trust fund administration, including generating and sharing monthly statements.
- Lead and oversee business office employees, including handling disciplinary action when needed.
- Keep census records current and communicate status updates.
- Attend stand-up meetings when asked by the Administrator.
- Help with Medi-Cal/Medicaid application processing.
- Prepare TARS documents as required.
- Monitor Medi-Cal and Medicaid redetermination timelines.
- Assist with billing and payment workflows, including bank deposit preparation.
- Pursue collection efforts for delinquent accounts.
- Support day-to-day operations by organizing staff schedules, assigning work, and checking results.
Supervision
This role contributes to the overall management and supervision of business office personnel.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should understand skilled nursing billing and payment processes and be comfortable using Microsoft Office tools. Prior experience of about one year in a long-term care setting is preferred. Knowledge of PCC is also preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Applicants should be able to interpret technical instructions, understand policy manuals, communicate clearly with managers and staff, use basic math concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, solve practical issues, and follow written, verbal, diagram-based, or schedule-based directions.
Physical Requirements
The job involves frequent computer use, standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, and occasionally sitting. It may also require frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The role requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, along with the ability to adjust focus.
