Located in Penzance, Cornwall, Frances Bolitho Care Home is seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join its night team on either a part-time or full-time basis. Role Overview

As a Night Healthcare Assistant, you will foster a safe, comfortable, and reassuring atmosphere for residents during the night. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care by building meaningful relationships and working collaboratively with the team committed to exceptional care standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as continence care and repositioning.
  • Conduct regular welfare checks and observe night-time conditions.
  • Respond promptly and compassionately to call bell alerts.
  • Provide comfort, reassurance, and companionship throughout the night shift.
  • Administer medication safely after receiving appropriate training and competency approval.
  • Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any notable changes or concerns.
  • Maintain precise digital records via care management systems.
  • Help ensure smooth shift operations including supporting colleagues and guiding the team as needed.
  • Adhere to care plans to deliver truly personalised care and maintain a calm, safe, and secure environment at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Healthcare Assistant, ideally with qualifications such as a Care Certificate or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
  • Those without a Care Certificate but with relevant experience and commitment to gain one may be supported through initial daytime induction shifts.
  • Compassionate, patient, calm, and empathetic disposition.
  • Experience working with dementia or complex care needs is preferred.
  • Confidence to take on responsibilities and provide peer support during shifts.
  • Willingness to undertake medication training if not already qualified.
  • Basic digital literacy for maintaining electronic records.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and dedication to providing excellent care.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive pay rates: £14.00/hour (weekdays), £17.50/hour (weekends), £15.47/hour (bank holidays) for Night Healthcare Assistants.
  • Enhanced rates for Enhanced Night Healthcare Assistants: £15.00/hour (weekdays), £18.75/hour (weekends), £30.00/hour (bank holidays).

Additional Information
