About the Role

NHS Grampian is seeking enthusiastic and driven midwives to join its Maternity Service and help deliver compassionate, person-centred care that reflects the organisation’s values.

Opportunities are available across full-time and part-time working patterns, with both permanent and temporary positions on offer. The service welcomes applications from experienced midwives at Band 6 as well as newly qualified midwives at Band 5.

This is a varied role within teams that are described as supportive, active and welcoming. You will care for women, birthing people and families with a broad range of health and social care needs, working closely with colleagues across maternity services and with wider health and care partners to provide safe and effective care.

NHS Grampian is committed to helping midwives grow and succeed in practice. Newly qualified midwives will receive structured development support and a preceptorship programme to strengthen learning, confidence, competence and professional development across inpatient, outpatient and community areas. This experience will also help prepare staff for changing ways of working as services evolve ahead of the move to the Baird Family Hospital and the development of Continuity of Carer teams. Newly qualified midwives will also be supported to complete Flying Start and attend NHS Grampian Flying Start Development Days.
