Compensation and Benefits

Salary aligns with the district's current pay scale, ranging from $63,347 to $116,190 annually, distributed over ten months. Compensation also includes monthly rural recruitment and retention allowances and travel stipends during the school year in accordance with the collective agreement.

Subsidized housing options in the form of teacherages (mobile homes) are available; these can be furnished, partially furnished, or empty to accommodate personal belongings. Additionally, a relocation allowance may be provided.

Support and Development

The district emphasizes support for new teachers (0-2 years experience) through a structured mentorship program, with eligibility extended to more experienced teachers under specific agreement terms. Ongoing professional development is prioritized with access to educational leaders providing coaching and workshops, supplemented by strong collective agreement provisions for member development and financial support.

Community and Cultural Acknowledgement

The school district recognizes and respects the traditional and unceded territories of the Secwepemc, Tsilhqot’in, and Dakelh peoples and associated First Nations. It acknowledges the official indigenous languages of the area and is committed to fostering respectful and supportive relationships within these communities.
