Role Overview

We are seeking a Molecular Biology Specialist on a contract basis to collaborate remotely. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and performing molecular biology experiments, analyzing results, and working closely with interdisciplinary teams to support research advancements. Expertise in current molecular biology methodologies and ability to resolve experimental challenges are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct molecular biology protocols such as PCR, cloning, and nucleic acid extractions from DNA and RNA.
Interpret experimental data using bioinformatics software and apply statistical analysis techniques.
Maintain thorough documentation and communicate experimental outcomes to aid research goals.
Work jointly with scientists and engineers to incorporate molecular biology procedures within larger project frameworks.
Enhance laboratory protocols to increase procedure efficiency and reproducibility.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Demonstrated skill in PCR, gel electrophoresis, and purifying nucleic acids.
Preferred experience in analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) datasets.
Strong understanding of molecular cloning methods including Gibson Assembly and use of restriction enzymes.
Familiarity with bioinformatics platforms such as BLAST, Primer-BLAST, and sequence alignment tools.
Proven capability to identify and resolve problems encountered during experiments.
