Role Overview
We are searching for a Molecular Biology Specialist to join a client on a contract basis, working remotely from any location. This role involves planning and performing molecular biology experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support research progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct molecular biology procedures such as PCR, cloning, and extraction of DNA/RNA.
- Interpret experimental outcomes using bioinformatics tools and apply statistical approaches.
- Record and communicate results to align with research goals.
- Work jointly with scientists and engineers to incorporate molecular biology tasks within broader projects.
- Enhance experimental protocols to boost efficiency and reproducibility within laboratory operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in PCR, gel electrophoresis, nucleic acid purification methods.
- Preferably experienced in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis.
- Solid understanding of molecular cloning techniques such as Gibson Assembly and restriction enzyme digestion.
- Knowledge of bioinformatics software including BLAST, Primer-BLAST, and sequence alignment applications.
- Capability to identify and resolve experimental challenges.
