Role Overview
Seeking a Molecular Biology Specialist to join a client on a contract basis working remotely. This role entails designing and conducting molecular biology experiments, analyzing research data, and collaborating with various teams to support ongoing scientific projects. Expertise with molecular biology methodologies and problem-solving in experimental settings is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and perform molecular biology procedures such as PCR, cloning, DNA and RNA extraction.
- Utilize bioinformatics tools and statistical approaches to evaluate experimental results.
- Maintain detailed documentation and share research outcomes to advance project goals.
- Work closely with scientists and engineers to integrate molecular biology techniques within larger research frameworks.
- Refine and optimize laboratory protocols to enhance operational efficiency and reproducibility.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency with PCR, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid purification methods.
- Preferred experience analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data.
- Strong understanding of molecular cloning techniques, including Gibson Assembly and restriction enzyme digestion.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics resources like BLAST, Primer-BLAST, and sequence alignment software.
- Capability to troubleshoot experimental challenges and develop effective solutions.
