Overview
We are looking to engage a Molecular Biology Specialist on a contract basis to support a leading Biotechnology Research company. This fully remote position involves the conception and execution of molecular biology experiments, detailed data analysis, and collaboration across scientific teams to drive innovative research projects focused on gene therapy and genetic engineering.
Primary Duties
- Design and perform molecular biology protocols including PCR, gene cloning, and nucleic acid extraction.
- Utilize bioinformatics and statistical tools to interpret experimental data.
- Prepare thorough documentation and presentations to communicate research outcomes.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to incorporate molecular biology approaches into larger projects.
- Refine laboratory protocols to enhance operational effectiveness and consistency.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with PCR, gel electrophoresis, and purification of nucleic acids.
- Preferred background in Next-Generation Sequencing data analysis.
- Expertise in molecular cloning methods such as Gibson Assembly and enzyme-based restriction digestion.
- Competency in bioinformatics software including BLAST, Primer-BLAST, and related sequence alignment applications.
- Strong problem-solving ability for experimental troubleshooting.
