About the Role and Company
Red Badge Group, a proudly New Zealand-owned security provider, is seeking a Mobile Patrol Team Leader for Auckland. The company offers guarding, mobile patrols, alarm monitoring, event security, and risk management services nationwide. This role is permanent and full-time, combining hands-on mobile patrol duties with office-based leadership, coordination, and administrative responsibilities.
Role Overview
As a Mobile Patrol Team Leader, you will oversee a group of Mobile Patrol Officers who provide professional patrol, alarm response, and customer service across various commercial, retail, and residential sites in Auckland. Working in close collaboration with the Patrol Services Manager, you will uphold high standards of safety, professionalism, and client service while cultivating a high-performing team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support a team of Mobile Patrol Officers.
- Organize patrol schedules, alarm responses, and service requests across multiple locations.
- Execute patrols, conduct site inspections, manage lock/unlock duties, and perform welfare checks.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and client inquiries by coordinating with clients and emergency services.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and development of patrol personnel.
- Oversee maintenance of company vehicles, equipment, and ensure adherence to operational standards.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, manage shift handovers, and maintain necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, company regulations, and site-specific procedures.
- Build and sustain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Identify areas for ongoing improvement and foster a positive team culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a current New Zealand Certificate of Approval (COA) or be eligible to obtain one.
- Experience in mobile patrol or related security operations, with leadership experience preferred.
- Maintain a clean criminal record and be able to clear pre-employment checks.
- Hold a valid, clean New Zealand Driver Licence and demonstrate safe driving practices.
- Competent with reporting tools, rostering applications, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication, observation, and incident reporting capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, conflict management, and team development.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Safety-conscious mindset with a client-focused approach; flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as per roster.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand and aged 18 years or over.
Work Schedule
The role follows a fixed roster: Sundays from 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM and Monday through Wednesday from 2:30 PM to midnight.
