Overview
Red Badge Group, a New Zealand-owned security firm specializing in guarding, mobile patrols, alarm monitoring, and event security services, is seeking a seasoned sales leader to expand its Wellington government sector presence. This senior position demands a strategic approach to unlock opportunities, foster trust, influence customer perceptions of security, and secure substantial government contracts.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a strategic pipeline targeting government contracts related to security guarding, mobile patrols, and monitoring services.
- Leverage existing Wellington government relationships to initiate and cultivate meaningful client engagements.
- Diagnose client issues, challenge existing assumptions about security, and propose practical, credible solutions that instill confidence.
- Conduct senior-level commercial negotiations with decision-makers, influencers, procurement representatives, and operational managers.
- Position Red Badge as a quality-driven, people-centered, and commercially responsive security provider amidst market resistance to change.
- Collaborate closely with operations, marketing, and executive leadership teams to design bespoke solutions, proposals, and customer engagement plans.
- Support tender processes, presentations, and strategic pursuits using customer insights, commercial judgment, and relational intelligence.
- Transition newly secured accounts into enduring partnerships focused on growth and retention over time.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years in senior sales, strategic account management, or business development roles.
- Established network and demonstrable relationships within Wellington's central government sector.
- Proven success in obtaining large-scale government contracts or intricate B2B service agreements.
- Strong commercial insight, strategic mindset, and confidence interacting with senior officials.
- Capacity to build trust, generate urgency, and ease customer concerns regarding provider transitions.
- Experience in sales or influence across service-oriented, labor-based, security, facilities, infrastructure, or government procurement contexts.
- Exceptional skills in communication, proposal development, presentations, and negotiation.
- Disciplined approach to pipeline development, opportunity management, CRM utilization, and sales forecasting.
- Location flexibility to attend occasional after-hours networking events and weekend corporate hosting commitments, including at Sky Stadium.
