Role Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols throughout the shopping centre's common spaces, parking areas, and storefronts to discourage theft and anti-social behavior.
• React swiftly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and customer concerns, escalating matters to mall management or emergency responders when necessary.
• Provide courteous, customer-oriented support and directions to shoppers while maintaining vigilant security oversight.
• Facilitate safe access for deliveries, service contractors, and assist with crowd and event control as required.
• Accurately complete incident reports, maintain shift logs, and ensure smooth information transfer during shift handovers.
• Collaborate closely with mall management, retailers, and the broader Red Badge team to foster a secure and inviting environment.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, site-specific procedures, and privacy standards, especially when handling sensitive data and CCTV footage.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a valid New Zealand Certificate of Approval (COA) security license or eligibility to obtain one, with assistance available for the application process.
• Clean criminal background and ability to pass employment screening.
• Experience in retail security, loss prevention, or customer service is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Strong communication, observation, and reporting capabilities, with a calm demeanour under pressure.
• Professional appearance, integrity, and respect for confidentiality.
• Reliability, flexibility, safety awareness, and a customer-first approach.
• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively across diverse shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
